April 2007

Brother Sir Knights,

The Exemplification last month was a wonderful event and our Assembly was

an instrumental part in the celebration.  Our Assembly owes a big hand to Eric Bruns,

our Class Chairman, who did an outstanding job with recruitment and coordinating

preparations with the other Assemblies. I salute our Honor Guard members who

assisted with the Exemplification. Commander Rick Schmidt reports that our

Assembly’s Honor Guard was out in full force and performed in an outstanding

fashion. I would like to thank all of the Councils who made a donation for our

hospitality room at the Exemplification. A special thank you to Stan Jackson,

Marvin Sacks, and Stan Mengwasser for stocking and staffing the hospitality

room for the weekend.

The Ladies Auxiliary would like to invite your wife to attend one of their

meetings and consider joining the Auxiliary. New members are encouraged to

bring their wife along for your first meeting so that she can meet the other ladies.

Please contact Ruth Cooper at 314961-9204 for more information.

Our Assembly will be conducting a flag retirement ceremony on June 14th. Please

bring any flag that needs to be retired to any Assembly meeting or function and

give to Rick Schmidt, our Patriotism Chairman. If you would like more information,

please call Rick at 314-846-4361.

The Assembly will be holding its annual election of Officers at the May

meeting. Nominations will be presented at the April meeting. Please contact

our Nominating Committee Chairman Tony Braun, PSD at 636-287-6659

if you are interested.

Ralph Fick, our Chalice Committee Chairman, would like to remind us to

make our wishes known to our families regarding the Chalice Club. It is best to

put this in writing, but be certain to tell your wife. If you would like help or need

more information, contact Ralph at 314-892-3473.

A reminder that our meetings are held at the Cardinal Rigali Center, 20

Archbishop May Dr., Saint Louis, Mo. 63119. The Rigali Center is off of

Laclede Station Road less then 1 mile north of Watson ( just north of Cure

of Ars Parish). Visit our website ( stlouisassembly565.org) for more information.

Sally and I wish you and your family a Holy and Happy Easter.

Fraternally,
