Faithful Friar's Report
Dear Brother Sir Knights,
The month of November presents some special days in the Catholic calendar. We begin with the Solemnity of All Saints on November 1(Holy Day of Obligation) and All Souls on November 2, when we remember all our loved ones who have entered eternal life. In this month we also celebrate in our country special holidays including Veterans Day on November 11 and Thanksgiving Day on November 23. And it goes on without saying that this month is the beginning of the Christmas holidays. However, some will not be with us to celebrate these holidays because they are protecting us by their service in the military. I wanted us to remember in a special way our military women and men in Iraq. The internet has many beautiful prayers for our soldiers and very good web sites for support of our soldiers. I ask you to please pray this prayer whenever you gather as a family to celebrate the holidays. Remember it is because of them that we have the freedom to enjoy family gatherings.
Our Heavenly Father, we
come to You with humble hearts.
We come to praise and worship You for who You are,
the ONE and ONLY God of the universe. Thank you for the
blessings you bestow upon us daily, those blessings we
see, and those we fail to see. We want to thank You for
our salvation through Jesus Christ, Your son.
We ask your forgiveness Father, for the sins of omission,
and those we commit daily. Thank You for the eternal love
You have for ALL people unconditionally.
We come to You now with a special prayer for our nation
during this time of crisis. We know Father, You are always
in control. We ask Your blessings on this nation, our
military, and our leaders. Thank You Heavenly Father for
the freedoms You have given us, and help us to protect
those freedoms we take for granted. For the families of
those who have lost their lives, we ask the peace and
comfort only You can give. We ask for a swift end to this
conflict, with no more death or injuries. Your will be done
Father, not ours, as we have faith in You knowing what is
best. Thank You for hearing our prayer, in the name of our
Lord and Savior Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
